Is larger deviation was acceptable for redistricting?

It seems to me the key for commissioners is to reduce deviation during the restricting process. The question becomes is larger deviation was acceptable for redistricting?

If you look at the preliminary redistricting plan, it also indicated on page 4 on district 1 “Larger deviation was acceptable for this district in order to make the district cohesive and keep communities together.” Why not for other districts?

If you looked at US Census Bureau site, the America Family average size is 3.14. My God, if parents have 2 kids, the deviation is 27%. If parents have  3, the deviation will be 59%.

Today I want to ask one question to everyone in here does not matter whether you are from Script, Mira mesa, or PQ. If you have two or more kids, are you willing to send your kid to other families with 1 or no kids with no common interests, and even separated by a big cannon to represent your kids?

I’m asking the same question to all commissioners. Are you? Your decision will be remembered by your children. Your decision will make the history. Please make wise decision to keep “ONE PQ in D5”.

Thank you.
